Capping a Seawall

Capping a Seawall

September 3, 2011

Exciting progress has taken place on the project this week, with the installation of the new concrete bulkhead cap for the seawall. Crews spent the first part of the week building and installing the first 200 linear feet of concrete forms. On Wednesday, the crews poured the first batch of concrete for the site, which has now cured enough to remove the first set of forms and supports.  Photos of these exciting events can be seen below with more in depth descriptions.

Progress also has continued with the installation of the steel sheet piles for the seawall.  This part of the project is slated to be completed by the end of next week.  With 700 linear feet already completed, crews will continue to demuck and install the new backfill along the seawall, which is set to also be completed by the end of this coming week.
