11 Dec USCIS Develops Website for Foreign Investors
The U.S. government is working to provide easy access to information for foreigners who want to start a business in the country and understand the immigration system. The recent endeavors of the government follow a drop in the national unemployment rate, a drop in foreclosures in the market and an upswing in U.S. consumer confidence.
At the beginning of December, the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) launched a website called Entrepreneur Pathways to help non-US citizens understand what immigration pathways are available within the U.S.
The site allows individuals to work out what kind of visa is most appropriate for themselves and their families, and details the requirements for each visa. The site is part of a national initiative named Entrepreneurs in Residence, which is goaled to stimulate more foreign-invested start-ups and result in a boost to the US economy.
“Through our innovative Entrepreneurs in Residence initiative, we are working to realize our current immigration system’s full potential to attract and retain start-up enterprises that promote innovation and spur job creation in Ameica,” stated USCIS director Alejandro Mayorkas.
